=== What's this gopherhole about? ===

This is an experimental gopherhole running on a Raspberry Pi in my
shed at home.

I'm going to use it see what gopher looks like with no "i-type"
gophermap text-verbiage and to explore the use of gopher as it was
initially envisaged.

All menus will be purely made of links to content - the maps
themselves will not have any "i-type" text.

It's the antithesis of the current trend in using "gophermaps as
content" which is done to make gopher pages act like web pages,
effectively with embedded "Hyperlinks" (which I think is a bit
dodgy...)

There may be experiments to test for example the use of Type-8
"telnet" etc.

I'm using this to recreate the older, simpler, times of networking
and the protocols....

gopher
ftp
telnet

and any more that come to mind...

**** UPDATE 2066-08-22 ****

I've installed "Leafnode" on this Pi so it can act as a local Lan
NNTP server. I used to run this setup - Leafnode and slrn - for
Usenet many years ago, so this is another step back in time.
